Did you know that most products have not been reformulated since the 1950s! Isn't it surprising that its been 70+ years since companies have changed their ingredients. Now, with new technologies and research we are finding out the potential impacts of ingredients we have been exposed to probably our whole lives. Our skin is our largest organ and can absorb what we put on it -- now people are becoming increasingly aware of that they are putting in their bodies but are looking past what they are putting on their body. But thats not the only problem, our environment is impacted by these ingredients. Once in the environment, some toxic substances never deteriorate and build up over time. This creates a constant cycle of exposure and potentially harmful impacts.
SUR Clean Skincare is dedicated to not only creating products that are composed of clean ingredients but also ones that are actually effective! With science on our side we are able to provide skin-safe products that will give your skin the healthy nourishment it needs without compromising your health or the environments!
SUR has complied a “Toxic Twenty” list which is a list of 20 common dirty ingredients in most personal care products. We consider these 20 not only skin offenders but also environmental offenders, many are even banned in other countries. The FDA does not continually regulate cosmetic ingredients so this blog will help to bring awareness to and highlight ingredients and their environmental harm to provide you with accurate data about their dangers.
The concept of sustainability revolves around maintaining a healthy environment for future generations. By spreading awareness and educating the general public we can all do our part in being more conscious about the ingredients we are exposed to and hopefully eliminate them from our daily lives.
